Amazon was robbed of business by Temu and Shein in Britain? User loss is nearly 2 million!

According to market research firm GWS, the number of users of Amazon and eBay in the UK is declining. Since the beginning of this year, the number of daily customers of Amazon in the UK has decreased by one million, while eBay has decreased by almost two million. Meanwhile, China’s e-commerce platforms, Shein and Temu, have made great strides.

The GWS study surveyed 5,200 Britons. Amazon attracted 9.3 million daily shoppers to use its app in January this year, and after six months, the number dropped to 8.3 million. The number of daily users on eBay dropped sharply from nearly 6 million to 4.2 million. Shoppers seem to have found a better choice between Shein and Temu.

A month later, Amazon and eBay lost a total of 3.5 million daily users. The number of users of fast fashion brand Shein has doubled in recent months, from one million to two million. At the same time, Temu attracted 3.5 million users every day after it was launched in the UK for one month.

In addition, according to GWS data, users spend the longest time on Temu, and shoppers spend no less than 18 minutes on Temu every day on average. Vinted, a second-hand e-commerce platform, ranks second, with shoppers using it for an average of 14 minutes a day. In contrast, shoppers spend an average of 8 minutes a day on apps like Amazon, eBay and Shein.

Shein and Temu also performed well in the European market. Since last summer, Shein has been targeting Europe. In May this year, Shein opened its European headquarters in Dublin. Similarly, Temu also set up an office in Dublin this year. Temu entered the European market for the first time this spring.
